Ode to Netflix

Last week my husband and I signed up with Netflix and so far it's been life changing. I read this ridiculous "poem" and it inspired me to become a poet, because it clearly doesn't take much. Here's my Netflix poem.

Judy Garland
Cary Grant
I know I should stop
But I can't

Streaming live
Always connected
My husband wishes
He wasn't neglected

I loved your article about old movies for young people. You've GOT to have a movie night with an Esther Williams film and put a children's swimming pool in the room. Then, if there is to be a high-brow night, you could show Harvey with James Stewart. Get the version that has him talking about the film for a couple of minutes before it starts. Nothing like a 6 ft. tall invisible rabbit to spark the imagination. You Can't Take it With You is black and white, but it features Ann Miller as a girl who can't dance! Hilarious!Arsenic and Old Lace and Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell are two other B&W movies that are good. Thanks for the great article!

I taught a film history class for a while and co-created a Summer Classic Film Series in my hometown and when I read your list of old movies for young people I thought it was great. Kudos to you. I'd like to offer a couple of suggestions. Bullit and Once Upon in the West for the Action and Western fans. And definitely, My Man Godfrey and The Man Who Came to Dinner.
